Over the past year, we have been proud to run a series of training sessions for the dedicated teams at Citizens Advice Canterbury and Herne Bay, focusing on Family Law and Wills and Probate.
These sessions were designed to give advisors a stronger understanding of the legal frameworks that underpin some of the most sensitive and personal issues clients face, from separation and child arrangements to making a will or managing probate after the loss of a loved one.
Our aim has been to provide practical, up-to-date guidance that helps CAB staff and volunteers feel more confident when supporting people at often very difficult moments in their lives. We covered topics such as:
Understanding the family court process
Legal rights during separation or divorce
Guardianship and parental responsibility
The importance of having a will
What happens when someone dies without a will
An overview of probate and estate administration
It has been incredibly rewarding to see how engaged and committed the CAB teams are in learning more to support their community, and we are really pleased to continue building this relationship.
We know just how complex and emotional these legal areas can be, and we hope these sessions are making a difference, both for the advisors and the many local people who turn to them for help.
A huge thank you to everyone at CAB Canterbury and Herne Bay for welcoming us so warmly and for the brilliant conversations throughout each session. We look forward to continuing our work together in the future!
