Martin Tolhurst Solicitors Achieves Positive Planet Bronze Accreditation

Martin Tolhurst Solicitors is proud to announce that we have been awarded the Positive Planet Certified Bronze Accreditation for 2025, marking our first year of partnership with Positive Planet and an important milestone in our long-term sustainability journey.

Positive Planet awarded the Bronze Certification following a detailed review and verification of our environmental data, carbon measurements and reduction commitments. This achievement recognises our early but meaningful progress in measuring and managing our environmental impact across Scope 1, Scope 2 and upstream Scope 3 emissions.

The Positive Planet Bronze Award is given to organisations that have demonstrated a proven commitment to sustainability by:

• Measuring full Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions
• Improving the quality of environmental data collected
• Developing an approved Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP)
• Committing to a 5% annual reduction in organisational emissions
• Demonstrating verified compliance with Positive Planet’s accreditation standards

The verification report confirms that Positive Planet has “reviewed all relevant information and documentation and is delighted to confirm the client is now Positive Planet Certified.”

This accreditation represents the beginning of a structured, strategic approach to reducing our environmental impact. As part of our ongoing commitment, Martin Tolhurst Solicitors has set the following key targets:

By 2030 

• Achieve zero Scope 1 & Scope 2 emissions
• Achieve a 42% reduction in Scope 3 emissions

By 2040

• Achieve full Net Zero across our operations

Our partnership with Positive Planet will continue to help us measure progress year-on-year, identify reduction opportunities and ensure every improvement is independently verified.

As part of the accreditation process, Positive Planet has provided us with an online disclosure dashboard, which displays our carbon footprint measurement for the year ending 31/03/2025. In future years, this dashboard will also show progress comparisons, helping us and our stakeholders clearly visualise the results of our sustainability efforts.

Once our signed Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) is uploaded, it will also be publicly visible through this dashboard.

This Bronze Accreditation marks the completion of our first year working with Positive Planet, during which their team has supported us in establishing strong environmental reporting foundations.
