Samantha Kings
I am a Conveyancer in the Residential Conveyancing Department at Martin Tolhurst Solicitors, supporting clients across Kent and the surrounding areas with a wide range of residential property transactions. I handle freehold, leasehold and shared ownership sales and purchases, as well as re-mortgages and transfers of equity. With decades of experience, I focus on clear communication, practical guidance and a calm, steady approach so that clients feel supported throughout their move.
How I Can Help You
Buying or selling a home can be one of the most stressful moments in life. My aim is to make the legal process as straightforward as possible by keeping you informed in plain English and progressing your transaction efficiently.
I can assist with:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Shared ownership transactions
- Re-mortgages
- Transfers of equity
I work closely with estate agents, lenders and other solicitors to minimise delays, resolve issues early and help you reach completion smoothly. Whether you are a first-time buyer or a seasoned homeowner, I want you to feel confident that your residential conveyancing matter is in safe hands.
My Legal Journey
My legal career began in 1986 at a law firm in Birmingham, and since then I have worked in residential conveyancing roles across the West Midlands, the South West and Kent. I have been a dedicated Residential Conveyancer since the late 1990s and have built my career around helping people move home.
Working in different regions and markets has given me a strong understanding of the varied challenges that can arise during a property transaction and the importance of combining technical knowledge with a reassuring, client-centred approach.
About Me
Outside work, I love music, especially soul and Motown. My favourite artist is Kenny G, as I have always enjoyed the sound of the saxophone. When it comes to reading, I often reach for a John Grisham novel, which probably shows that the legal world was always meant to be part of my life.
If I Were Not a Lawyer…
As a child I wanted to be a firefighter because I admired the bravery involved, although that ambition quickly faded after a fire at my family home made me realise that I do not actually like fire very much.
I also once imagined myself as a singer, but it became clear early on that this was not my calling. Even my mother agreed that my singing voice might be better appreciated in private.
If I Were Stranded on a Desert Island…
If I were stranded on a desert island, I would take:
- Soul and Motown music to keep me upbeat
- Kenny G for the calming saxophone
- A John Grisham novel to remind me of home and the legal world waiting for me
