  • Posted

Martin Tolhurst Solicitors have confirmed that after a firm wide vote they will now be supporting North Kent MIND as their new chosen charity.

The Kent firm has around 160 members of staff and has seen a huge rise in the importance of Mental Health in the work place.  After a firm wide vote MIND came out with a huge majority.

North Kent Mind is an independent mental health charity operating from Gravesend. They provide a wide range of services for people who experience mental health problems, whether these are described as anxiety, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), Personality Disorder, or otherwise. They work with people individually or in small or large groups.

Their services cover a huge amount and that’s why supporting them to help fund their work is extremely important. Services include supported housing, low cost counselling, agoraphobic support, activity sessions, springboard, social groups, person centred planning, self-management courses, peer-led activities and open sessions.

Managing Director, Richard Carter commented “We at Martin Tolhurst Solicitors now have 17 mental health champions across our six offices across Kent, all of whom will be attending even further training to help support and guide our staff. Improving well being at work and motivation levels is a huge priority. Our Mental Health Champions  will be playing a critical role in tackling the stigma around mental health in the work place, this is why we are so delighted to be able to support North Kent MIND and raise money for such an important charity  who help so many across Kent.
