Tarisai Gonyora
Tarisai joined the firm in November 2022 as a Wills and Probate Executive within the Private Client Department dealing with Wills and Probate matters.
What Tarisai says:
I graduated from the University of Cape Town in South Africa with an LLB degree in 2004.
I then went on to study conveyancing and after serving two years of articles of clerkship, I qualified as an Attorney and Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa in December 2006.
In November 2010 I expanded my knowledge in private client law by obtaining a Certificate in Deceased Estates pursuant to my decision to start specialising in wills and estates.
I furthered my studies and in November 2014 I received an award for the top student in the board exams for the designation of Fiduciary Practitioner of Southern Africa.
I then qualified as a Notary Public in June 2015.
Having had a fulfilling and rewarding legal career in South Africa for eighteen years, I decided to venture into English law in 2022 for new challenges, responsibilities and experience.
My extensive knowledge in private client law has lowered the steepness of the learning curve from the one jurisdiction to the other.
In my spare time I enjoy watching medical drama series and movies ranging from comedies to unrealistically action packed movies. I have been an active member of the church and I have served in various ministries. I am currently a reader in my new parish.
If I were not a lawyer, I would be...
a commercial pilot. I love planes and couldn’t decide between pursuing a career as a pilot or an attorney. It came down to a toss and needless to say, I haven’t flown a plane.
If I were stranded on a desert island and could take three pieces of music (or books) with me, they would be…
A compilation of 90s R&B and Soul music – I have so many good memories of that era. Any thick Danielle Steel love novel – to keep my faith in romance alive. A compilation of choral music from my church – to feed my soul.
