Simon Franklin
Simon is a Partner and the Head of our Wills & Probate Department based at our Gravesend office. He has over 35 years experience in property law, wills, trust and probate work.
He has a wealth of experience in Property Law, Wills, Trust and Probate work and is a member of the Agricultural Law Association with a specialist Agricultural practice acting for many farmers in the North Kent area
What Simon says:
“A large number of my clients are families who have been with me for many years, in some cases I am now acting for the third generation! I have lived in Kent all my life and have been with Martin Tolhurst Solicitors since I qualified in 1982, I was then later offered Partnership with the firm in 1985.
The approach I adopt to the law has always been to achieve a client’s objectives in a speedy and cost effective manner. I always seek to explain complex legal issues in a straightforward manner, which is an approach that is recognised and appreciated by my clients in their feedback.
I am currently a member and past president of the Kent Law Society and a past president of the Medway Law Society.
In keeping with the Kent Connection in my spare time, I have also followed the fortunes of Kent County Cricket Clubs for many years, likewise in the winter months I can be found sitting in the stand supporting Ebbsfleet United Football Club – no doubt getting cold and bemoaning why winter lasts longer than summer!
If I were not a lawyer, I would be...
Doing Michael Atherton out of a job and travelling the continent as cricket correspondent for The Times or filling in for John Inverdale and covering Wimbledon and 6 Nations Rugby on TV, nice work if you can get it! I went to university many years ago intending to follow a career in sports journalism, changed course, came out with a law degree, got sidetracked and became a solicitor!
