Phoebe Phillips
I am a Conveyancer in the Residential Conveyancing team at Martin Tolhurst Solicitors, supporting clients across Kent with a wide range of residential property transactions.
I joined the firm in October 2023 as a Legal Secretary and, after two years of supporting a Partner within the department, progressed into my current case handling role within the Residential Conveyancing team. This hands-on experience has given me a strong understanding of both the legal and practical aspects of conveyancing, enabling me to guide clients confidently through each stage of their property transaction.
I am currently studying towards a qualification as a Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX), continuing to build my technical knowledge alongside my day-to-day practice.
How I Can Help You
I assist clients with a variety of residential property matters, helping to ensure transactions proceed as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
I understand that buying or selling a home can feel overwhelming, particularly for first-time buyers. My approach is to provide clear, practical advice and regular communication so that clients feel informed and reassured throughout the process.
Having supported complex transactions during my time as a Legal Secretary, I appreciate the importance of attention to detail, organisation, and proactive communication. I take pride in helping clients navigate each stage of their move with confidence.
My Legal Journey
I graduated from the University of Kent in 2022 with a First Class BA (Honours) in Philosophy, before completing a Master of Laws (LLM), graduating with a Distinction in 2023.
I joined Martin Tolhurst Solicitors shortly after completing my studies, keen to gain practical experience within a busy residential conveyancing department. Working closely within Tom Bexhell’s team provided invaluable insight into the demands of property law and the importance of delivering a responsive and client-focused legal service.
In early 2025, I began studying towards my CILEX qualification. Being able to apply my studies directly to live client matters has strengthened both my confidence and technical understanding, and I continue to enjoy developing my career within residential conveyancing.
About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and spending time with my dog, Mia. I also love cooking and experimenting with new recipes, and I have recently ventured into the world of sourdough starters.
If I were not a lawyer I would be…
A Behavioural Analysis Profiler. After hundreds of hours watching Criminal Minds, I am convinced I would be a perfect fit.
If I were stranded on a desert island and could take three pieces of music or books with me, they would be…
- A compilation of 00’s feel-good music, such as Now That’s What I Call Music 00’s.
- A Frieda McFadden psychological thriller to keep me entertained.
- A practical survival guide, perhaps Bear Grylls’ Ultimate Survival Handbook, which would hopefully prove useful.
