Residential Conveyancer

I joined Martin Tolhurst Solicitors in January 2026 as a Residential Conveyancer within the Residential Property team. I work on both freehold and leasehold transactions, supporting clients across Kent and beyond.

Buying or selling a home is often one of the most significant financial commitments a person will make. I focus on providing clear, practical advice and ensuring that each transaction progresses as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

How I Can Help You

I assist clients with a wide range of residential conveyancing matters, including:

  • Freehold sales and purchases
  • Leasehold sales and purchases
  • Transfers of equity
  • Re-mortgages

Property transactions can feel complex, particularly where there are tight deadlines or detailed leasehold arrangements. I combine technical precision with a client-focused approach, keeping clients informed at every stage and addressing issues proactively to avoid unnecessary delays.

My aim is to make the legal process straightforward and to provide reassurance throughout, from initial instruction through to completion.

My Legal Journey

I graduated from the University of Buckingham with an LLB in 2021 before beginning my career in conveyancing. Since then, I have developed my expertise in residential property law and progressed to managing my own caseload of freehold and leasehold matters.

Alongside my work as a Residential Conveyancer, I completed the Bar Practice Course, studying civil and criminal litigation, advocacy and client conferencing. I subsequently qualified as an unregistered barrister.

I have also gained experience in criminal and mental health law, assisting in advising individuals whose liberty was at stake and those subject to detention. While that work was both challenging and meaningful, I discovered that residential conveyancing is where I thrive. It allows me to combine careful attention to detail with direct client interaction, guiding individuals through important life milestones with clarity and confidence.

About Me

Outside of work, I enjoy reading and exploring different perspectives through literature.

If I were not working in law, I would be a ship captain. I am drawn to the responsibility of guiding a vessel safely through uncertainty and pressure, while embracing the sense of adventure that comes with it.

If I were stranded on a desert island and could take three books with me, they would be:

  • How to Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie
  • Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben
  • The Tattooist of Auschwitz
