Josh Ingleton

Trainee Solicitor

I joined Martin Tolhurst Solicitors in January 2024, working in the Conveyancing Department and gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. I commenced my training contract in May 2025, with my first seat in residential conveyancing.

From the outset, I have worked on a broad range of property transactions, from straightforward freehold sales and purchases to more complex leasehold transactions. I have also gained experience with specialist lending arrangements, such as bridging loans, deepening my understanding of the financial aspects of property law.

I know that buying or selling a home is a major life event, and my approach is to make the conveyancing process as smooth and stress-free as possible. By offering clear communication and proactive support, I aim to help clients feel informed and confident throughout their transaction.

How I Can Help You

  • Freehold & Leasehold Sales and Purchases – Handling a variety of property transactions, from simple to complex.

  • Specialist Lending Arrangements – Assisting with transactions involving bridging loans and other alternative finance options.
  • Client-Focused Approach – Providing clear, practical advice to make the conveyancing process as seamless as possible.
  • Attention to Detail – Ensuring transactions progress smoothly by proactively managing issues before they arise.

My Legal Journey

I completed my Law Degree at the University of Kent in 2020 and went on to study the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law, graduating in 2022. After working in residential conveyancing for several years, I joined Martin Tolhurst Solicitors to further develop my expertise in property law and gain wider experience through my training contract.

About Me

Outside of law, I am passionate about travel and aviation, and I love exploring new destinations. My all-time favourite places so far have been Bihac in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Zadar in Croatia. I also enjoy helping friends and family plan their travels, often acting as an unofficial travel consultant!

If I weren’t a lawyer, I would be...

A travel vlogger or travel agent! I have always been fascinated by aviation and love experiencing different cultures around the world.

If I were stranded on a desert island, the three books I’d take with me would be...

  • My travel photobook – filled with memories from my past solo and group trips.

  • Dune by Frank Herbert – a classic sci-fi adventure.

  • The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood – a thought-provoking and compelling read.
