About Giles

Giles qualified as a solicitor in 2004, having joined Martin Tolhurst Solicitors as a trainee in 2002. Over the course of his career, he has built a broad and diverse practice, handling matters across the County Court, High Court, and Court of Appeal.

From April 2010 to 2026, Giles was Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution at the firm, leading the team through sustained growth while maintaining a hands-on practice. This experience underpins the strategic and commercially aware advice he now provides as a Consultant Solicitor.

His work spans family disputes, commercial litigation, and personal claims, often involving multiple parties and sensitive issues. He is particularly valued for his ability to distil complex matters into clear, practical advice that clients can act on with confidence.

He has conducted numerous hearings, mediations, and roundtable meetings and has developed strong working relationships with local judges and experienced barristers, enabling him to assemble the right team when required.

Much of Giles’s work comes through recommendations from former clients and professional contacts, on occasion, even from previous opponents, which is often regarded as one of the strongest endorsements a solicitor can receive.

Beyond the Law

Outside of work, Giles enjoys travelling with his family, playing cricket (with more enthusiasm than precision), and supporting Liverpool FC. He values the balance that time away from the office provides, helping him maintain perspective and focus when advising clients.
