Alicia Hollands
I joined Martin Tolhurst Solicitors in November 2016 as an Office Administrator within the Conveyancing Department. What began as an opportunity to learn a completely new area of law has developed into a rewarding career in residential conveyancing, and I am proud to now work as a Conveyancer supporting clients through one of the most important transactions of their lives.
Over the years, I have built my knowledge and experience from the ground up, gaining a thorough understanding of the conveyancing process and developing a practical, client-focused approach to my work.
How I Can Help You
As a Conveyancer, I assist clients with a range of residential property transactions, helping to ensure their move progresses as smoothly as possible.
I understand that buying or selling a home can feel both exciting and stressful. My aim is to provide clear communication, practical guidance, and responsive support throughout the transaction, helping clients feel informed and confident at every stage.
My Legal Journey
When I joined the firm in 2016, I had no previous experience in conveyancing. I spent more than two years learning the foundations of the role before being promoted to Legal Secretary within the Conveyancing Department.
Over the following seven years, I continued to develop my knowledge and skills, progressing from supporting fee earners to taking on greater responsibility within the team. In February 2026, I was promoted to Conveyancer, marking the next step in my professional journey.
I am currently studying with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) and working towards qualifying as a Licensed Conveyancer, further strengthening my expertise in residential property law.
If I were not a lawyer...
When I was younger, I was a huge EastEnders fan, so working behind the bar in the Queen Vic would have been my dream job. My family also own a pub, and I have pulled a few pints there over the years, so perhaps it was meant to be!
If I were stranded on a desert island and could take three pieces of music or audio with me...
- Coldplay – for me, nothing beats them.
- A David Attenborough podcast – his voice would bring a real sense of comfort and nostalgia.
- Sonny Fodera – his upbeat music would help keep spirits high.
