To celebrate National Conveyancing Week we look at our own conveancying team within the firm. In this blog post, we are delighted to feature Tom Bexhell, one of the conveyancers at our Ashford office. In his interview, we will learn about his unique journey into property law, the significant milestones that have contributed to his career journey, and what motivates him.

What led you to pursue property law as a career?

I went into Property law purely by chance. After completing my law degree I was unsure what area I wanted to pursue. It just so happened that my first job after completing my degree was with a conveyancing firm in my nearby area (an area of law that I knew nothing about). I soon realised however that the fast pace of conveyancing suited me well and that it was something that I wanted to commit to.

What have been some of the most significant moments on your journey to becoming a solicitor?

I think without doubt the most significant moment was being offered a training contract at Martin Tolhurst. As all law graduates know, obtaining a training contract is very difficult with high competition for the few opportunities available. So to be given the opportunity to train at Martin Tolhurst was a huge moment in my career.

What do you think sets you apart in your field?

I am very committed to my job and to all of my clients, and go above and beyond to ensure that the best service is provided. Even if this means a few late nights and lost weekends.

What are your hopes and dreams for the future?

I hope to continue to progress in my legal career within the firm and to continue to guide and assist those who are just starting their own careers.
