Chloe Baumhauer

I graduated from Coventry University in 2020 with a 2:1 LLB (Hons) Law degree before completing the Legal Practice Course and Master’s degree at the University of Law, graduating in 2021 with an LLM in Legal Practice.

I joined Martin Tolhurst Solicitors in March 2022 as part of the New Enquiries team at our Gravesend office. This role gave me valuable experience across a wide range of legal matters and, importantly, helped me understand the value of listening to clients and identifying their needs from the very beginning.

I subsequently joined the Private Client department as a Paralegal before commencing my Training Contract in September 2024. During my training, I gained experience across a number of practice areas, including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate, Court of Protection, Residential Conveyancing and Family Law.

Having qualified as a Solicitor in September 2026, I now specialise in Private Client work, with a particular focus on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate and Court of Protection matters.

I understand that planning for the future, or dealing with the affairs of a loved one, can sometimes feel daunting or overwhelming. I aim to make the process as straightforward as possible by providing friendly, approachable and practical advice, explained clearly and without unnecessary legal jargon.

I look forward to continuing to develop my career within Private Client, building on my knowledge and experience while helping individuals and families plan for the future with confidence.

If I were not working in a law firm, I would be...

Travelling around the world and volunteering at elephant sanctuaries. I love sightseeing, exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. I have already been fortunate enough to visit a number of countries, but there are still plenty more on my list!

If I were stranded on a desert island and could take two books or films with me, they would be...

The Friends TV box set. It is definitely my comfort show and never gets boring. It can make me laugh no matter what mood I am in, which I think would be essential on a desert island!

A survival guide. Perhaps not the most exciting choice, but if I were genuinely stranded, I think my future self would thank me.
