Amy Geoghegan

New Enquiries Team

Amy joined the Firm in August 2023 as a New Enquiries Administrator. She is the first point of contact for clients and is able to engage with clients and solicitors in a friendly and professional manner. She is currently based in our Gillingham office.

What Amy says:

I graduated from the University of Bristol with a 2:2 in LLB Law.

I started with Martin Tolhurst in 2023 as a New Enquiries Administrator to gain first-hand experience of working in a legal environment. In this role I have been able to liaise with clients in order to effectively understand their needs and allocate their enquiries to the relevant solicitors. This has greatly broadened my understanding of various areas of law and given me a valuable opportunity to be able to apply the skills and knowledge from my degree.

In the near future I will be studying the SQE and then I hope to eventually qualify as a Solicitor.

My previous experience in Customer service roles and mental health volunteering have allowed me to easily adjust to the expectations of the role. I have been able to apply my listening and empathy skills when dealing with clients with different legal issues, allowing me to give the best client care I can at that crucial first stage of contact.

Outside of work I love to bake for my friends and family. During our most recent Bake-off in the firm my brownies got lots of compliments and people are always grateful when I come in with a fresh batch!

If I were not a lawyer, I would be...

Travelling the world! I absolutely love visiting other countries and experiencing different cultures. I have visited quite a few countries so far and hope to continue to explore more in the future.

If I were stranded on a desert island and could take three pieces of music (or books) with me, they would be…

  • A copy of Taylor Swift’s entire discography, I am a huge Swiftie and she has songs to fit every mood!
  • Everything I know about Love by Dolly Alderton – Such an amazing book about relationships formed with friends through the years and lessons she has learnt through her life.
  • Mamma Mia the Movie – I absolutely Love ABBA and Mamma Mia is such a comfort film for me. I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of it.
