All of our offices are fully operational. However because of the high rates of COVID infections in the area our physical offices are closed to the general public.Clients can book face to face appointments in advance where necessary, please contact us to make such arrangements. At appointments all clients and staff will be required to wear a mask.


16th December 2021 - 9am

In view of the recent COVID outbreak and increased number of infections all of our staff are now working from home. We are unable to offer face to face personal appointments at this time as whilst we remain full open and operational our physical offices are closed. Please contact us by phone or email and we will deal with your enquiry as soon as possible.


15th December 2021 - 9am

Following some positive COVID cases within the staff of the Firm we are, as a precaution for the safety of our clients, unable to offer personal meetings for clients currently. Meetings can still take place with us by Zoom, Skype or Microsoft teams. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understand.


2nd December 2021 - 9am

All of our offices are open for clients to visit. All clients attending our offices should note that it is now our policy that they must wear a mask. This will need to be worn throughout their time on our premises. Our staff will wear masks throughout their meeting with you. Please do not attend our offices where you, or anyone you are in close contact with, have any COVID symptoms or are awaiting the results of a PCR tests.


23rd August 2021 - 9am

From Monday 23rd August our office doors will be unlocked and we will be open for callers, including clients. Visitors must complete a form confirming their name, contact details and confirmation they have no symptoms. Prior appointments are no longer required for clients to drop paperwork in, etc. Please do not attend our offices if you feel unwell or have any COVID symptoms. Thank you for your co-operation.


12th April 2021 - 9am

We are Open! All of our offices are open for Client pre-booked appointments only from 12th April. If you need to see us please make an appointment with your solicitor. All clients attending appointments will be required to adhere to our COVID protocol including wearing a face mask, hand sanitising, social distancing at all times and having their temperature taken. Please do not attend our offices if you feel unwell or have any COVID symptoms.


21st December 2020 - 9am

Martin Tolhurst will seek to operate as normal during the Tier 4 restrictions that commenced on 20th December for all of our office locations. Our staff will be based in our offices or working from home. In accordance with Government advice our office locations will not be available for appointments or public visitors until the Tier 4 restrictions end. Essential Documents should be sent to us by post or can still be dropped into office letterboxes. If you need an appointment we can arrange this by phone, FaceTime, Zoom or Skype. 2nd November 2020 - 9am

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Friday evening will not be permitting any appointments with clients or members of the public from 5 pm on Wednesday 4 November. Clients will only be able to drop documents in by letter box. Client meetings from close of business on Wednesday 4 November will only be possible by telephone, Face Time, Zoom or Skype, and must be arranged in advance by the clients with appropriate fee earners.

Unlike the March announcement we anticipate that the majority of staff will continue to work in our office locations. Our offices are safe places to work and we have taken a number of precautions to ensure safe place to work for all employees. Homeworking will be prioritised for those whose health circumstances make it sensible to work from home at this time, where job roles can be performed equally well at home, or where there are other circumstances that mean it will be necessary.


2nd June 2020 - 9 am

In accordance with Government guidance, the majority of our staff are working from home and are not office-based currently.  We have, from 1 June 2020, re-opened all five of our office locations subject to limitations and strict conditions.  Please see these in the attachment listed below.  Personal attendances are only permitted subject to prior appointment or dropping documents off into our Reception area.  We are implementing guidelines from Public Health England and if you enter our premises it must be on the basis that:

  • you maintain social distancing of at least 2 metres from all other persons at all times;
  • that you follow the traffic flow that is marked clearly in our Reception area;
  • upon entry to the building, you must use hand sanitiser that is provided;
  • you must remain at least 2 metres from the Reception desk, behind the Perspex screen at all times.

Personal services such as swearing of documents, witnessing documents and assisting with completion of forms may be limited and you should telephone in advance if you require any of these services.

As an alternative to personal appointments, we are able to offer Face Time, Skype or Zoom telephone calls with our fee earners and we are happy to arrange this to suit you.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday evening all office locations of Martin Tolhurst are closed from today until further notice. We hope to re-open as soon as possible but will be guided by Government advice. Please note that we have activated our remote working plan and have a number of staff working at home on client files.
