QualitySolicitors Martin Tolhurst reach target for our charity of the year!

  • Posted

GRAVESEND law firm QualitySolicitors Martin Tolhurst has raised a massive £18,000 for the baby unit at Medway Maritime Hospital.

The solicitors presented staff at the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Unit with a cheque on December 19. The cash will go towards much-needed specialist equipment to help premature and sick babies.

To raise the funds, staff at Quality Solicitors Martin Tolhurst have taken part in a variety of different events and  activities including: sponsored fun runs, a seven mile walk, climbing Mount Snowdonia, themed dress-up days, cake sales and a daredevil skydive which raised over £4,000.

The firm finally reached their fundraising target following a very successful office Christmas jumper day.

Hospital spokesperson Lindsey Wileman said:

“The Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust is absolutely overwhelmed with the amount of effort the staff of Martin Tolhurst has put into fundraising for us, we truly cannot thank them enough.  Their donation has enabled us to purchase two Cerebral Function Monitors for use on the Unit, this equipment is vital to ensure we are able to maintain our standards of care for our very small and sick patients.”

Richard Carter, Managing Partner of Quality Solicitors Martin Tolhurst said:

“Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust was voted by our staff members to be our Charity of the Year because of the fantastic work they do at a local level. The work the Special Care Baby Unit in Medway do is critical and means so much to the families they assist. The Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust is close to the hearts of all of our staff members at Quality Solicitors Martin Tolhurst and we are glad that we have been able to support the charity in this way so that they can continue to provide such invaluable care for families at a time when they need it the most.”

Quality Solicitors Martin Tolhurst would like to thank all those that have supported them in this effort to raise this outstanding target and are honoured to have supported the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust to help provide vital equipment for a worthwhile cause.
