Martin Tolhurst Solicitors pledge to fundraise £20,000 to help ellenor to support terminally ill children and their families!

The announcement of the firm’s new 2017/18 Charity of the Year came today, Wednesday 1st March 2017.

Managing Partner of Martin Tolhurst Solicitors, Richard Carter said:

“This year we will be going all out to help ellenor. This would smash our fundraising record by a large margin, and having seen the vital work ellenor do in the community we serve, we are keen to raise this sum for them.”

The charity care for all ages, from very young to very elderly patients – caring for all diagnoses, not only for cancer and offer support for all needs – where this be physical, practical and/or spiritual. The vital care they provide can be given not only at the hospice, but also at a patient’s home, in hospital or in the patient’s own care home. Above all, they care not only for the patient, but also their carers and families too.

Their mission is to lead and coordinate the best personalised care for all ages, sharing their expertise to ensure that all families facing terminal illness get the right support in the best place possible, enabling them to make the most of the time they have.

The ambitious, record-breaking, £20,000 target that the team at Martin Tolhurst Solicitors intend to raise will go directly to enable the charity to deliver 300 hours of compassionate care at the end of life to a child and their family.

Charlotte Hawkins, ITV Good Morning Britain presenter and Patron of ellenor commented:

“As a Patron of ellenor, I am delighted that Martin Tolhurst Solicitors has decided to make ellenor its Charity of the Year for 2017. The £20,000 the law firm is hoping to raise will really make a difference to the charity, by enabling it to deliver 300 hours of compassionate care at the end of life to a child and their family. This means ellenor can be there when a family needs the support the most; 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”

The firm intend to kick off the fundraising on Thursday 2nd March, with staff taking part in ‘World Book Day’ – dressing up as characters from their favourite books through the years, all in good spirits!

Martin Tolhurst Solicitors have a flowing calendar of events planned for the year ahead to help them reach this record target including, Partner Kevin Denny attempting to run the London Marathon for the first time on 24th April and Ashford Conveyancer Laura Drawbridge attempting to climb Kilimanjaro in July!

Richard Carter commented:

“Both of these spectacular efforts by these 2 staff show how determined we are to support ellenor.”

Martin Tolhurst Solicitors will be sharing their fundraising efforts on social media (quoting #MTS4Charity) and also here on the firm news section of the website. If you would like to sponsor the team and support this very worthy cause by making a donation to one of the firm's fantastic fundraising events planned for 2017, please visit: www.justgiving.com/Martin-Tolhurst-Solicitors-2017
