Fraudulent Will writer is jailed!

Walter Ventriglia, who ran a Will writing firm called Legacy & Law, has been jailed for 14 months after telling clients that changes in the law meant that their Wills needed changing. He charged clients between £30-£60 to make amendments to their Wills that were not needed after being warned by Bracknell Forest Council that he was to stop sending letters to clients.

Ventriglia told clients that their Wills would be stored securely and operated a storage business called UK Will Register. In fact the Wills were kept in the airing cupboard at his home!

It is thought that Ventriglia defrauded somewhere in the region of 130 clients, nearly all within the south-east of England.
